2008 Huron College Reunion

A reunion for Huron College is being planned for
August 15-17, 2008
for all graduates, former students, faculty and staff who were a part of Huron College primarily through the mid-1980's, but everyone is welcome. It would be great to have as many people turn out as possible. Please pass this information on to any Huron College Alumni that you know. We are seeking contact information for all alumni, former students and friends so we can establish a database. We would appreciate all the information that we can compile.
Huron College/University Archives
All the archives which were housed around campus and at the Ella McIntire Library are in tact and will be moved to the Fine Arts Building on the former campus in Huron which is the site for the newly established Huron Community Campus. This includes old pictures, yearbooks, student newspapers, athletic trophies and even the campus bell.

Latest News on Huron College/University Campus
The City of Huron is committed to maintaining a site for post-secondary in Huron. They allocated $500,000 for necessary repairs and replacment of structural components of the Fine Arts Center over this past year. The Huron Area Arts Council is in the middle of a campaign to raise funds to update and repair the magnificant 265 seat theater. They have raised $90,000 of their $140,000 budget for lighting, sound and curtains. The City of Huron has entered into a Management Agreement with Presentation College in Aberdeen to bring post-secondary education back to Huron. A variety of accredited and nonaccredited courses for a variety of degrees will be taught at the Huron Community Campus in the Fine Arts Center building by post secondary education institutions from across the state. Northern State University and Dakota Weslyan University as well as Presentation College are presently offering classes. The building will also be available for community and civic events and activities.
